Despite big drops, some recent positives for RSL exist

I think we're all still reeling from our fourth loss in four matches (which, incidentally, doesn't sound so bad if you describe it as our fourth loss in nine matches. Yeah.), so I thought I'd issue just a short one today and touch on a few of the positives from the the second half of the season so far.

  • We've seen the triumphant return of Javier Morales, he who can drop a pass on a dime. He's come through thus far without major muscular problems, which is a real accomplishment and accolade to the medical staff and the coaching staff. Bravo, good sirs, you've done well with him. He's started two matches now, and he's even played 90 minutes in one, so the sense that he's nearing a return in full force is certainly a palpable one.
  • We've seen Chris Schuler progress from error-prone center back to a capable replacement for Nat Borchers, and we've seen him deputize as a left back when called upon. For a man of his literal stature, it's never easy to play on the wings, as something different is usually required, but he's done well to serve in that spot.
  • We qualified rather early for the playoffs, giving some credit to our disrupted season. It's not always been easy, but we've at least done that, even if we've looked awfully discouraging in the last few weeks. The playoffs near and we'll jut have to buck up, support the club, and hope for a few wins to give us a second shot at the Cup.
  • We've seen the rise of Yordany Alvarez, who, despite having one miserable match, looks like a good acquisition for us — especially given that Kyle's gone and done himself with suspension until the playoffs — and hopefully he won't have to make too many trips up to Canada. I've always wanted to learn more about Cuban exiles, anyway, so this is a nice opportunity.
  • We've seen Paulo Jr., Cody Arnoux, and Chris Agorsor recover from injury, with the latter two marking their debuts for the club and looking like good signings in the process. We'll hope to see more from them as the season goes on.

That's all I've got for you today, but there for every hit we've taken, there's at least something worth remembering the season for. And do remember this: It's not over yet.

Come on you Claret and Cobalt!
